Sheffield United have already taken one bright youth prospect from Hamilton Academical in Ryan One, and it looks as though they could be set to steal another youngster from them.

The Daily Star are reporting that the Blades and Hull City want to sign 17-year-old midfielder Lewis Latona. It is also stated United’s sister club Beerschot are of interest as well.

As per the report, Latona has indeed been on a 10-day trial at Hull City last week, and the teenager has previously undergone a trial with the Blades and Belgium club Beerschot.

The Scottish side have recently formed a strong relationship with United’s sister club and as a result it appears as though Latona could be on his way to Beerschot, perhaps via the Blades.

This would mean he would effectively be under the Sheffield United umbrella, and it would give the midfielder an opportunity to grow and perform over in Belgium, which of course worked out for Scottish international and former Celtic player Jack Hendry, who after progressing on loan at Oostende, went on to play for Club Brugge.

If Latona is anything like the talent that One is then the Blades could potentially have another superstar in their network. Since signing for Sheffield United back in September, One has scored a staggering 13 goals in all competitions.
